Special Religious Education (SRE)
All Saints Parish has about 20 volunteer Special Religious Education (SRE) teachers who reach around 500 Orthodox students every week during school terms at the following schools: Belmore North, Belmore South, Clemton Park, McCullum’s Hill, Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills North, Harcourt, Kingsgrove and Kingsgrove North High School.
In the majority of cases the SRE teacher is the only formal contact these children have with Orthodoxy.
Our teachers are trained in the delivery of scripture lessons, behaviour management, current Department of Education requirements on Working With Children Checks, Non-Criminal History Checks, Child Protection and departmental policies and procedures.
The lessons are part of an approved curriculum by the Department of Education and are available in print form or digitally through Google Classroom. Lesson duration is 30minutes and depending on the school can be either in the morning or afternoon.

If you are able to volunteer your services in the teaching of SRE, we welcome and train new teachers all year round.
